Help Mohammed Ashraf and his family cover expenses to survive the Gaza genocide
Spain
Dear community, my name is Amanda, I am from Spain and I am raising funds for my friend Mohammad who’s trapped in Gaza with his entire family. I send them regularly the funds that I collect and this makes it possible for them to buy food, water and cover their life costs through continuous displacement.
Let’s give them hope and make their lives even a bit easier…
Their home has been destroyed… and they are trapped between hunger, fear, and death.
A message from Mohammad: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. I am Mohammed Ashraf Jarbou, a young man in my twenties, screaming from the heart of the rubble of Gaza… where death haunts us, and hope melts like wax. I am writing to you today as the sole breadwinner for my five sisters, my younger brother, my father, who suffers from a severe disc in his back, and my mother.
My story with its painful details: 1. Our home got bombed and flattened:
– We no longer have a safe roof! Our home, which held our memories, was reduced to rubble under the bombing. We now live in a miserable tent in an overcrowded camp.
2. Unbearable suffering in the tents
– In winter: heavy rains flood our tent, and the bitter cold makes my sisters sick.
– In the summer: The scorching heat melts our bodies, and flies and diseases spread like wildfire.
– Terrifying overcrowding: Dozens of families suffocate in a narrow space… no privacy, no safety, no humanity.
3. My mother, father, younger brother, and five sisters… I am all that remains for them:
– I see the hunger in their eyes when we sleep on empty stomachs for days. – I hear their cries at night from the horror of the bombing, and I feel helpless because I cannot protect them.
4. My dream of becoming a nurse… shattered on the rocks of war: – I was studying nursing to help the sick, but the bombing destroyed my university, and Gaza’s hospitals became graveyards for those who survived. – How can I study while I’m searching for a loaf of bread for my sisters?!
5. The high prices that have destroyed everything… even lunchtime bread has become a luxury! My sisters are crying from hunger… and I fear the day I will have to choose between medicine for one of them or a loaf of bread. Help us before we die a slow death… killing by bombing is easier than killing by hunger!
6. Our needs: These are not luxuries… they are survival needs: – Food to live another day. – Clean water to heal our illnesses. – Medicine for my sisters who suffer from diarrhea and chest infections. – Clothes and blankets to protect us from the harsh winter cold. – Safety… This is impossible! —
How will you help us? – 50$: Feeds us for two days. – 200$: Buys a month’s worth of medication for my sisters. – 1,000$: Contributes to the cost of one of our family members’ exit. – Any donation: It’s courage in my sisters’ eyes… It’s hope that we’ll live tomorrow!
—
Our ultimate goal: to leave Gaza… or die! > “We are nine souls suspended between life and death: > – I (Mohammed), the young man carrying the burden of an entire family. > – My brother and five sisters who deserve a chance to live like other girls.
Going out to Egypt or Jordan is our only lifeline.
